Yesterday we finally got a touch of sunlight here in the Shuswap. Praise God. I feel like I’ve been stuck in a cave for 6 months. This has been a very long winter for us, and I am weary.
Sunlight is essential to the human entity. I feel for the men and women worldwide who live in the dark, in some dank prison cell.It must be unbearable, but they have no choice. I support a local prison ministry in Kelowna, It’s called Bridges. They help people inside, then help them when they get free. The actively employ the love of Christ to hurting broken lives.
Darkness and light, that’s what it,s all about. Once we meet Christ, we become Children of the light. Jesus goes even further in Matt 5, and says to us “You are the light of the world.” If we only practice being the light in a church building for two hours each Sunday morning, what good is that?
Be Jesus. Be the light of the world. Reach out into the darkness and pull someone into the light. At least offer the light to someone you meet who is hurting. Jesus will do the work if you will yield to him. Jesus will save, Jesus will heal. Jesus will provide all. Jesus can transform anyone. We can do the works of Jesus and speak the words of Jesus, because He lives inside us and we are one spirit with him.
For me, I prepare my day by being with Jesus in prayer and praise and study. Then I step out of my house. At that moment, I become available to be used by God to reach out and touch broken lonely people, wherever I go.
I am available Lord, thank you for using me to bring light to the darkness, today!
